Gunmen raid Adamawa....

Despite the current state of emergency in Adamawa State, Yola, Jimeta, Shagari, low cost and other environs in the state are gradually becoming under siege
, following persistent attack on residents of the area by suspected armed bandits at night.
Within the last three weeks, no fewer than seven houses were attacked at different times in their residences in the wee hours of the night leaving their victims with severe wounds and their property and cash carted away at gun point.
Some of the victims of the attack according to findings were said to have died while in hospital, while many residents now desert their homes because of persistent raids.
It was also learnt that most of the suspected armed men, usually stormed the residents of their unsuspecting victims in their numbers at midnight during which they cause mayhem and in most cases demand the identity of the head of the family at gun point.
Reliable sources said that during one of the raids on some houses, the suspected gun men who drove in a Hilux van, attacked and ransacked three provision shops at Lakare, Sabon Pegi and Unguwan Sanda area and carted away assorted goods. 
It was gathered that in one of the houses, the armed bandits attacked the residents with machetes and left two members of the family severely wounded. They later died in the hospital.
This situation according to our sources has forced many residents of the area to flee for fear of being attacked.
Meanwhile, body of a five year old girl believed to have been murdered by suspected ritualists in Pariya village of Fufore Local Government Area has been found in a nearby bush in the area.
Eye witness account told our Correspondent that the body of the deceased was discovered near the bush without the head, hands and some organs of the body removed by the assailants.
Father of the minor Mallam Salihu who confirmed the incident, said the little girl was sleeping with her mother and other children in the house when they suddenly discovered she was missing.
A search party was immediately organized to trace her whereabouts but to no avail until the following day when her lifeless body was found in a nearby bush without the head and some organs of the body on 5th April, 2014.
Police Public Relations Officer in charge of Adamawa State Police Command ASP Othman Abubakar had when contacted about the rampant attacks on residents of the affected environs, said the matter was yet to be reported to the police assuring that the command will intensify patrol of the area to safeguard lives and property of the residents.
He said the command was privy to a reported murder of a little girl, but requested he should be given time to ascertain when and where the unfortunate incident occurred.
