Book Excerpts
On Religion “Three years later, I found myself several thousand miles from secondary school at a church in Houston, Texas, but this time nobody was speaking in tongues or binding out demons. Instead they talked to God in gentle whispers, completely the opposite to the yelling and shouting I was used to back at home. Also, church actually started and finished on time; and on Sunday you could actually go an entire day without some random person asking you the guilt-seeking have-you-gone-to-church question. And my scary dreams? Well, they suddenly disappeared. It was as if the Devil and his whole crew of demons were denied visas at the American Embassy. And I can totally relate to that…” click to see how to get the book
On Gay Marriage "I confess that I don’t see the big hoopla around gay marriage. I mean I could care less what two consenting men do behind closed doors. Except if the men happen to be politicians deciding how to steal "our"…I take that back…Niger Deltan's oil money. I confess that I am less worried about two men screwing each other and more worried about a politician screwing an entire nation…over and over again!" click to see how to get the book
On Education "The fact is that our road networks, like our educational systems are built on a system of memorization; you either know the directions or you don’t. There is no logic to navigating the roads…if you get lost…ask for directions or ask jeeves I mean Jesus. But in the western world, if you ask for directions, you are told to head north or south and then to take exit number X or Y. Even the exits are numbered according to the number of miles between exits. It is a very logical system...their roads were probably planned by people who sucked at memorizing." click to see how to get the book

Stella Oduah's Car Expensive than British Prime Minister's Cars...
Each of the two armoured BMW 760 Li cars bought for the Minister for Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority is more expensive than the British Prime Minister, David Cameron’s car.
BREAKING DEADLOCK ON ASUU STRIKE
No one single sentence can succinctly capture the rot that has progressively emasculated Nigeria’s education sector. The dysfunction is exemplified in the current strike by ASUU which started on July 1 over funding dispute. The industrial action has grounded activities in federal and state universities, sending undergraduates out of school for almost four months.
Jonathan Agrees To Sack Stella Oduah and Recover The N255m
President Goodluck Jonathan has come under intense pressure from some powerful men to sack a "corrupt" and "reckless" Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, over the N255m bulletproof car scandal.
Already, President Jonathan has met with his close associates and they have concluded that Stella Oduah is a baggage that is too heavy for Jonathan to carry. “She has to go. This disgrace is too much.”
A source close to Jonathan's inner circle in Aso Rock told OluFamous.Com that the cash will be recovered. I hear that Stella Oduah is seriously begging Patience Jonathan to save her job and her face.
The call for the minister’s removal followed the ministry’s confirmation on Wednesday that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority bought two bulletproof vehicles worth $1.6m (N255m) for Stella Oduah.
The NCAA had on Friday claimed that the cars were in its possession and are used to “convey the minister and visiting foreign dignitaries.”
But this contradicted the statement of the minister’s aide, Mr. Joe Obi, who had earlier admitted that the cars were purchased because Stella Oduah’s life was in danger.
Following the development, leaders of anti-corruption groups have all said the minister’s acceptance of the cars amounted to receiving a bribe to neglect her duty, leading to the loss of lives in plane crashes.
Executive Director of CLO, Mr. Ibuchukwu Ezike, described the minister’s action as evidence of the level to which impunity had grown among public officers because of Jonathan’s inability to fight corruption.
He said, “If this happened in climes where laws are obeyed; where the credibility of processes is respected, such public officer is sacked and prosecuted. We believe that what has happened is enough reason for the minister, not only to be removed, but to be prosecuted.
“But these things happen and nothing is done. That is why we have been saying that the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is not interested in fighting corruption.”
Similarly, the Executive Director of CACOL, Mr. Debo Adeniran, said Oduah and her accomplices should be sacked and prosecuted for corruption and negligence of duty.
He said, “Not only should Oduah be sacked, she and her accomplices should be promptly arrested, investigated, prosecuted and actually punished for such heinous crime. What she did is like taking a bribe from NCAA, which means she will no longer be able to maintain standard in aviation sector. And when standards are not maintained, all you get is that Nigerians are killed in plane crashes.”
When contacted by Punch, spokesperson for ICPC declined comment. He said: “No comment for now.”

Popular Muslim Cleric Rapés & Beats His 5yrs Daughter to Death...
Wonders, they say, shall never end. A conservative Muslim preacher in Saudi Arabia has been sentenced to eight years in prison and 800 lashes for raping his five-year-old daughter.
The preacher, pictured above, is known as Fayhan al-Ghamdi. He usually preached on television as a good man. But he lost he sense of decency and violated his daughter of just 5years. Not only did this Muslim cleric raped his young daughter, he also beat her mercilessly, leading to her death.
Fayhan was convicted of beating his daughter Lama with canes, burning her with electrical cables, crushing her skull and tearing off her nails. She was also raped repeatedly and died later in a Saudi hospital.
Saudi Arabia is know to follow a strict interpretation of Islam under which murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery are capital crimes, with execution mostly by firing squad. But in the case of Muslim preacher Fayhan, he was sentenced to just 8years in prison.
The case of Lama caused a public outcry and brought to light sensitive issues surrounding the ambiguity of punishment for Saudi fathers found guilty of murdering their own children.
Saudi officials say the popular Muslim preacher was not given a harsher sentence because the girl's mother accepted 1 million riyals, roughly $267,000, from him (her ex-husband) as "blood money," which is allowed in litigation under Saudi law.
The Egyptian mother, who acquired Saudi nationality through her ex-husband, said she is a poor woman with no income. By accepting the money, she waived the right to demand retribution against Fayhan for the death of their daughter.
Some are however alleging that the woman was pressured to accept the money.

UK to pay 1million pounds to transfer 534 Nigerian prisoners home.....
Talks are continuing into reaching a compulsory prisoner transfer agreement, which could see more than half of the 500 criminals from Nigeria currently in UK jails repatriated.
Prisons minister Jeremy Wright told MailOnline how 'more foreign prisoners must serve their sentences in their own countries'.
Ministers have been ordered to step up efforts to end the scandal of more than one in eight prisoners being from overseas. David Cameron vowed to end the practice of the British taxpayer picking up the bill for criminals with no business in the UK.Doubt if Nigerians prisoners would want to come serve the rest of their terms in Kirikiri. Continue..
The Prime Minister said in 2010 that he would ’personally intervene’ to send more foreign criminals home.
Britain has even made clear it would pay to build new prisons in countries like Nigeria to speed up the process of sending foreign criminals home. Up to £1million has been promised to upgrade Nigerian jails, including a new wing at Kirikiri Prison in Lagos.
Securing an agreement with Nigeria would
be seen as a much more significant breakthrough. Latest figures show
there were 534 Nigerian nationals in British jails, 485 men and 49
women.

Nigerians
account for one in 20 of all foreign prisoners, putting the country
fifth in the league table of nations whose citizens have been jailed in
the UK.
Justice Minister Mr Wright said: ‘I am clear that more foreign prisoners must serve their sentences in their own countries.
‘That is why we are currently working with the Nigerian Government on a compulsory prisoner transfer agreement to increase the number of prisoners who are transferred.
‘Legislation allowing Nigeria to enter such an arrangement was passed earlier this year by the Nigerian Parliament. We are now working with them on the text of a final agreement.’
Overflowing jails abroad have made it increasingly difficult to deport prisoners to their own country.
It is argued that by paying for building new jails or making existing ones more ‘comfortable’ so they approach British standards, will be repatriated.

"I wanted to be a nun' - BBA Beverly Osu says in new interview....
BBA contestant Beverly Osu revealed in an interview published today that
she'd wanted to be a nun but abandoned the vision in her fifth year in a
convent school...
Beverly tells Punch
Beverly tells Punch
I attended Daughters of Divine Love Convent, Enugu State. I thought I would be a reverend sister but I abandoned the vision when I dropped out in my fifth year. I finished my secondary education in a secular institution before moving to Babcock University. I could not finish from Babcock because I had some personal issues. Again, I dropped and enrolled at the National Open University.
It affected me in a very spiritual way. In as much as I know worldly things, I still fear God and have faith in Him. The reason why I wanted to become a nun was because I was raised in a Catholic home. I just felt it was the best thing for me to do at that time. I used to see myself as a messenger of God. Even though I did not become a nun, I still remain faithful to God. Part of my dreams is to establish a church and do a lot of charity work.
