‘I don’t know if Shekau is dead or alive’ - Jonathan shocks Nigerians
President Goodluck Jonathan shocked Nigerians on Sunday when he declared
that he did not know if the leader of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram,
Abubakar Shekau, was dead or alive.
How PDP Plans To Rig 2015 Polls, Destabilize Nigeria - APC
According to APC, the PDP and the Presidency also plan to use what they have tagged a ‘Third Force’ to:
• Bamboozle Nigerians and project the image of a performing Presidency, even when they admit that the current public perception of the government is less than salutary because of its weakness and lack of vision;
• Engage in the destabilization of the APC using moles and fifth columnists;
• Instigate chaos in the South-West using what they called the ''Old Afenifere Guards'' and
• Infiltrate and weaken socio-cultural and socio-political organizations in areas they deem to be unfavourable to the President.
Shockingly, APC said, the PDP/Presidency's grand plot also does not exclude even the PDP itself, as they are pursuing a strategy of decisively and ruthlessly purging from the ranks of the party's inner decision-making caucus all recalcitrant members, including governors and House of Representatives members. '
'The dogged pursuit of this action of dealing with supposed recalcitrant members has led to suspensions, expulsions and alienation of some PDP members, and it was the immediate trigger of the collapse of the party of tattered umbrella,'' APC said. ''After all, it is said that a house divided against itself cannot stand." Elaborating on the plot, APC said the North-East and the North-West have been singled out as areas where votes must be suppressed in 2015, by creating an enabling environment for the deployment of ''special forces'' in the run-up to the 2015 elections. To that end, it said the plan involves launching police/military actions in the run-up to 2015, to ensure most of the registered voters in the zones are disenfranchised. ''The reason these two geo-political zones have been singled out for 'vote suppression' is because of what the PDP/Presidency called the 'voting demographics' in the zones in 2011. The North West had 18,900, 543 registered voters in 2011 while the North-East had 10,038,119.
By contrast, the President's 'safe support base' of South-South and South-East had 8,937,057 and 7,028,560 respectively, the total of which was less than that of the North-West alone! ''The PDP/Presidency therefore believe that unless the votes in these two zones are suppressed, and those of the South-West (14,298,356) stifled one way or the other, the chances of the President winning re-election are very poor. Needless to say that these three zones (NE, NW and SW) are considered to be hostile to the President, hence must be tamed,'' APC said. With regards to the Third Force, APC said it involves railroading unsuspecting credible and independent-minded Nigerians with deep knowledge of, and extensive penetration of the media, civil society, labour, youth, women and ethnic nationalities into the plan, in which they will be given scripts written by the government and sent out to inundate the airwaves and the print media, posing as experts and public analysts to peddle lies and reel out statistics that have no bearing on the standard of living of the average Nigerian. It said that perhaps the most dangerous aspect of the plot is the determined attempt by the PDP/Presidency to constrict the democratic space by moving against the main opposition party which they regard as a ''real threat'' to the President if it (the party) does not implode or is forced to break up before 2015.
“The strategy to achieve this is multi-pronged: The PDP/Presidency will use those they called fifth columnists, disillusioned party members and 'deep cover plants' to fracture the APC; Play up clash of ambitions among its leaders, as well as create and empower a new anti-APC political force in the South-West, comprising the old Afenifere guards whom they described as spent and disillusioned forces, but who can be manipulated to achieve the desired objective of neutralizing the APC; And to revive some dormant political forces.” APC said while it is not bothered by the desperation of the PDP/Presidency to engage in unfair and foul means to win elections, it is astounded that a democratically-elected President will resort to actions that are far from democratic just to retain power at all costs.
''The PDP/Presidency should know that no power in the world can stop an idea whose time has come. For Nigeria, this is the time for change, and change will come in spite of the shenanigans of the devilish duo. Our hope is that these desperadoes do not destroy the country in their rabid ambition,'' the party said. It called on Nigerians to be vigilant in the days, weeks and months ahead as the PDP/Presidency begin to roll out their grand plot.
Gov. Fashola Finally Unveiles The Tallest Hotel In West Africa
Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, yesterday, unveiled the N30
billion tallest hotel in West Africa, the Intercontinental Lagos.
The hotel located at Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, is a 23-storey building with 358 rooms, 37 suites and a presidential suite.
The Intercontinental Lagos, a subsidiary of the Intercontinental Hotel Group, IHG, is owned by the Milan Group.
Fashola said the new hotel showed that the economy of the country was witnessing growth daily but without corresponding employment.
According to him, “The new sector is the tourism sector. This is the only virgin sector in the country, and it will help address the challenges of unemployment in the country.”
The governor noted that the new hotel had helped to create new 650 direct jobs in the state, adding that with the construction of more hotels and hospitality outfits, more direct jobs would be created as well as numerous indirect jobs.
Chairman, Milan Group, Ramesh Valechha said the hotel will change the landscape of Lagos and boost the hospitality industry in the state.
He noted that the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, for the project was signed on March 31, 2004 while it took two years to complete the design work before the conceptualisation of the project began.
He revealed that the Lagos State Government, Skye Bank and Wema Bank were supportive of the project.
According to Valechha, building of the hotel cost over N30 billion, while 650 jobs were created for Nigerians.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; Oba of Lagos, Oba Riliwan Akiolu 1; ex-governor of CBN, Joseph Sanusi, and other dignitaries.

Jealous ex-girlfriend sets rival ablaze in Enugu (PICTURED)
According to a report by Sunnewsonline.com, a 20 year old girl allegedly
set ablaze the 22 year old new love interest of her ex-boyfriend.
Cynthia Onah reportedly went to her ex-boyfriend's house at Onugba Nike
area in Enugu State late at night with a gallon of fuel and emptied its
content on Chinwe Igwe, her ex's girlfriend, who was sleeping. The
incident took place on August 24th.
The Commissioner of Police Enugu State, Mr. Mohammed Adamu described the incident as very unfortunate. “It is terrible that a girl because of jealousy would set another girl on fire simply because they are befriending the same boy.”
CP Adamu explained that on that fateful day, Cynthia had in connivance with another suspect, one Obiora Chukwuegbo stormed Chika’s home and set Chinwe on fire. It was only the assistance of neighbours that Chinwe was rescued through the window as the fire consumed the room. She was said to have been taken to a private hospital before she was transferred to Annunciation Specialist Hospital Emene, Enugu State where she is still receiving treatment.
The boyfriend, Chika told Sunday Sun
“I am a driver and I’ve been dating Chinwe for the past five years. We had little quarrel and we stopped dating. I meet Cynthia who is a prostitute and dated her for just one month. We separated one month after because at times she would be chasing me with a knife. I couldn’t bear it and so I went back to settle with my former girlfriend. Cynthia didn’t give up as she threatened that she was going to deal with us. She even threatened to pour acid on me.
Being a driver, I travelled the day Cynthia burnt my girlfriend. It was one of my neighbours that called me to say that my house was on fire and that somebody poured fuel under the door and it exploded and burnt my girlfriend who was sleeping in the room; that they have rescued her through the window.
“When I got home, I saw that all my property had been burnt to ashes. My girlfriend was hospitalized because she sustained injuries from the fire. But I am determined and I have promised God that with the condition of my girlfriend that I am still going to marry her.”
The suspect, Cynthia, who hails from Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, said
“I started dating Chika when he had misunderstanding with his former girlfriend, Chinwe. We dated for one month and then he told me that he was no longer interested in marrying me. Chika is owing me N12,000. When we had a quarrel, I did not threaten him with a knife. I only used the knife to deflate his tyres.
“I have quarreled with Chinwe several times. I sent her a text message to leave my boyfriend. Because she threatened me, I also threatened her that she will never enjoy the relationship. I don’t know anything about who took fuel to the house of her boyfriend and burnt the house. On that fateful day, Chika called my phone at night and said that I should meet him at Emene junction. I was out waiting for him when the policemen from the State CID arrested me. I didn’t know anything about the incident. I only know we have traded words.”
When Sunday Sun visited the victim at the Annunciation Specialist Hospital Emene Area, Enugu State, she said:
“I am still shocked at what happened. I regret dating Chika as I have been turned to something else now. I saw Cynthia Onah and Chukwuegbo Obiora after they had poured fuel under the door and fire was everywhere. I was calling him for help. It was when I was calling for help through the other window that I saw Cynthia Onah and Obiora Chkwuegbo running away and I was shouting for help until the neighbours broke one of the windows and carried me out from the window”, she said.
“My relationship with Chika is over. I am in pains and agony. I didn’t know what to do. I was sleeping and suddenly I saw smoke and it exploded and caught fire. I could have been burnt to ashes if not for the neighbours who broke through the window and rescued me,” she added.
CP Adamu said the suspects would soon be charged to court.

10 Types of Women That Men Do Not Want to Marry
The fact is, if you are a woman and you want to get married, you need to be smart about your dating. This means avoiding certain male types, but it also means recognizing what you are doing wrong in your dating and whether the type of woman you are putting out there to the male population attracts or repels them. To figure this out, you can start by considering the list below and whether you, at times, are any of these quite unattractive female types:
Miss “Bossy Pants”:
This woman usually can’t help herself; she has bossy in her DNA. When a
man first meets her, he might think this character trait is cute, for awhile. However, once he starts to feel like he is in grammar school being told what to do by his second grade teacher, he will give this woman her walking papers.
Miss “I Want To Change You”: This woman is lurking everywhere. She is the type of woman many men are the most leery of. (Of course, there are some men who love this woman because of their own insecurities.) She claims that she loves her guy just the way he is, but little by little, she chips away at just about everything about him. First, it’s his wardrobe, then it’s his taste in music. However, when she gets to his friends and his hobbies, she is usually kicked to the curb.
Miss “Suspiciously Jealous”: This woman is on edge all the time because she is very distrusting. Many times, she has been burnt in the past, so she is on guard for anything that looks or feels wrong. When a man first meets this woman, he sees her as a damsel in distress and wants to reassure her that he is nothing like that guy in her past. However, once she accuses him one too many times, he will have no choice to leave her because he can’t go through his life being prosecuted for somebody else’s crimes.
Miss “I Live For You And I Have Nothing Else Going On”: This woman is very difficult for a man to date, let alone marry. At first, he is flattered that she is so into him, but very quickly, he feels overwhelmed and suffocated by her. As a woman, you must have something going on in your own life so that you are not just waiting by the door for him to come home.
Miss “I Have Daddy Issues”: This woman usually dates older men and deep down is looking for a father figure, not a boyfriend or husband. Initially, her guy might like how she looks to him for approval and the answer to all of her questions, but soon, he realizes that he wants to have sex with a real woman, not someone who is stuck in her teen years trying to get Daddy to notice her.
Miss “I Speak To My Mother Five Times A Day About Everything”: This woman has her mother on speed dial and can’t seem to make a decision or do anything without getting her opinion. When a guy first meets her, he thinks it’s nice that she is so close to her family, but soon, he finds it to be way too much. A man just doesn’t want to have to ask hermother’s permission about things in his life.
Miss “Shhh, I Shouldn’t Really Be Saying This, But…”: This woman is like a humanPage Six. She loves to gossip and talk about other people and she loves to hear things about other people as well. Initially when a guy meets her, he might be entertained by her anecdotes but eventually, he begins to wonder what she is saying behind his back.
Miss “Keeping Up With The Joneses”: This woman needs to be at least as good as everyone else she knows. She is constantly talking about what the other people do and what the other people have. This places a lot of undue pressure on her guy and eventually, he justs gets fed up that she can’t appreciate what they have instead of wishing she wassomeone else.
Miss “I Don’t Eat”: This woman picks at her food, is on a never-ending diet or doesn’t eat pretty much everything that most people eat. When a man first meets her, he thinks to himself, at least she will never become overweight, but eventually he realizes that it’s no fun to eat alone. The fact is men like to eat; they like steak, they like trying different foods, they like dessert and women should be eating too, at least sometimes.
Keep in mind that most men just want a happy and easy going woman who has good values, so just focus on putting the best YOU out there
Advice To Facebook Ladies, Especially Those In Their Twenties [MUST READ]
ADVICE TO FACEBOOK LADIES, ESPECIALLY THOSE IN THEIR TWENTIES (But anyone can read it)
Please read till the end and make sure you apply well...
* Guys love to marry an Independent and Matured lady... So instead of sitting there and waiting to be bluffed by a guy, focus on getting a career that would take you out of the house wife category...
* Never let the sweet talks of ... guys deceive you, most times they just want to go between your legs and run off thereafter. *Remove the mentality from your mind that guys will keep springing up to approach you. The older you get by the day, the fewer toasters you will have.
*Playing 'too' hard to get is the worst thing you should ever start, remember, nothing lasts forever. If you still doubt, check out the number of matured single ladies looking up to GOD FOR A MIRACLE.
*Never extort things from a guy you don't love, guys always have ways of paying a girl back, either through their FRIENDS or total 'PAID' STRANGERS....BE CAREFUL.
*Never be deceived you can trap a guy through sex. A man will also return to his wife who sex starves him for years once he loves and trust her. You can never win a man over with your body.
*If all you take to the relationship is the mind set to EXTRACT MONEY from him, don't complain if all he ask from you is your body. He has seen you have nothing else to offer...
* Don't be fooled when Guys tell you they have never met a prettier girl, they will say that same thing to an 80year old woman they want to get intimate with.
*A guy always taking you to the SILVERBIRD, FAST FOOD, MALL AND EVENTS AT CONFERENCE CENTRE\NATIONAL THEATRE is no sign that he loves you, if he doesn't care to ask and PLAN YOUR FUTURE TOGETHER then you are just his 'SOCIAL MATE' and nothing else...
*If the only time he invites you over is when he needs to cook, clean the house and do his laundry, then just know you are his "executive house help".
*If he avoids meeting your family and close friends then it is an obvious sign he is just playing games with you.
*Don't always change the TV station from ETV to CRYSTAL TV, MTV and Fashion TV. Take time to find out what is bothering him and how you can help out.
*If the only places he doesn't frown when you enter are his bedroom and kitchen then know you aren’t welcome (only being used). Have you noticed that most of the ladies that end up being emotionally abused are the ones at the receiving end...? Always with open arms, requesting for something and ready to receive... THE MORE YOU WIDEN YOUR ARMS, THE MORE HE WIDEN YOUR LEGS...
A grown up guy who gives the excuse about his parents being wild when he brings female visitors to the house is a sign that HE HAS A SERIOUS GIRL AND HAS INTRODUCED HER TO HIS PARENTS ALREADY... ADVISE YOURSELF...
FINALLY, I ALWAYS SAY THIS AND WILL SAY IT AGAIN... It's better to be sitting in a taxi smiling happily than to be in your husbands fresh air-conditioned BMW x6 with bruised eyes wearing a fresh Gucci shades alongside a Burberry scarf...
JUST REMEMBER THAT, DATING A RICH MAN DOESN'T GUARANTEE HAPINESS IN MARRIAGE... MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING... MAKING RIGHT CHOICES IN LIFE IS WHAT MATTERS MOST.

Ghanaian Lawyer Hangs Himself in His Office, Leaves Suicide Note (PICTURED)
A 44-year-old lawyer and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Property Lane Limited, Kofi Yawson-Agyei, has committed suicide in Accra.
Yawson-Agyei, who was the Secretary of Ghana Institute of Surveyors, was found hanging with an electric cable in his CUA House office at Adabraka in Accra early yesterday morning.
Before his death, the deceased who was also a land surveyor, was said to have left a written note and signed a cheque for GH¢3000 directing it to be given to the wife, Felicia Yawson-Agyei. The body had since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE, Chief Superintendent Frank Adufati, Accra Regional Crime Officer,
said KofI Yawson-Agyei was discovered dead in his office at Adabraka around 6:00am yesterday.
An on-the-spot enquiry revealed that at about 12 midnight that fateful day, the CEO of Property Lane Limited told the wife Felicia Agyei-Yawson that he was going for a stroll.
For a while, the deceased was not returning and so the wife informed friends and relatives about the development and a search was mounted for him.
At about 6:00am that same day, Mr Yawson-Agyei was found to have hanged himself in his office by the relatives.
A report was then lodged with the Accra Regional Police for investigations.
The deceased before his death left a suicide note and a signed Standard Bank cheque of GH¢3000, directing a lady by name Naa in his office to give it to his wife.
The note read, “Naa give the written Standard Cheque to my wife. Pick the cheque from Makola, pay in and use signed cheque for my wife. The balance in the Fidelity account is about GH¢3000 Plus about GH¢7000 from Makola. Mankoadze owes GH¢2000.”
Police preliminary investigations suspected no foul play but investigations are on-going, according to the police Crime officer.

No marks of violence were found on the body at the scene.

MEET The Richest and Most Powerful Babes In Nollywood
In Nigeria, some movie stars have proven again and again that they can
guarantee return on investment as long as their faces adorn the poster.
They are Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Omoni Oboli, Funke
Akindele and Nse Ikpe-Etim.
Four elements contribute to the success of a movie at the box-office. They include good script, experienced director, professional publicist, and most importantly, the big name stars.
Of all the four, there is one a producer should never violate at the market place and that is the ‘star’ aspect of it. There could be a bad script, inexperienced director and not too good publicity for the movie but it is almost impossible to have Return On Investment (ROI) with un-bankable stars.
On the list is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde with box-office gross of N60 million. She made N24 million with Last Flight to Abuja, N6 million from Private Storm and her N30 million share in Ije bring her total earning to N60 million.
This year alone, no actress has made as much as N24 million from a single movie; Funke Akindele would have done so with The Return of Jenifa but the movie hit the box office in 2011.
Omotola, who was reported to have been paid N5 million by Tarila Thompson all in the bid to make his movie a blockbuster, has been described as the biggest box office actress of 2012. She recorded successes back to back but it remains to be seen if she can pull off the box office magic again with Amina and other movies coming in 2013.
Omotola has been an A-list actress even before Genevieve got her first big break and so what has been working for her is the wise investment in her brand. Her enduring presence and unceasing contact with her fans via the social media has made her popular even in an environment where a mother of four like her is not fashionable.
So far, Genevieve’s starring in the movies has grossed over N83 million at the box office. Mirror Boy (described by the actress as her first major film and the first to put her at the box-office) made N18 million, while Ije netted N60 million turning out to be Nigeria’s highest grossing movie ever. But Genevieve had to share the money with Omotola, who also acted alongside her. If the sharing formula is 50-50, then Genevieve gets N30 million of the total gross.
Genevieve’s next movie, Tango with Me went on to make N35 million. So, putting all the figures together, Genny remains at the head of the pack. What seem to be working for Genevieve are her enduring power, popularity and social media connection. The actress has been there for over a decade and is still waxing stronger. Her wine seems to taste better with age.
Another plus for Genny is her popularity. Genevieve is hugely popular across Africa and most especially among the youths. Before now, she has been very active on the social media especially Twitter. She even had to put up a Facebook advert after reports emerged that some acts were ahead of her there.
Funke is an unlikely candidate on this list. Now, how can one explain that she is third on a list parading heavy weights like Omoni Oboli, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Stephanie Okereke among others?
So far, Funke has made over N56 million, netting over N20 million in 2012 alone. In The Return of Jenifa, Funke netted N35 million. The movie ran till February 2012. Her movie, Married but Living Single made N9.9 million while Maami made N11 million. The actress is on her way to another cinema glory with a movie, A Wish. Let’s hope she will be able to wave the magical wand again and create a box-office success.
For Funke who recently got married, the plus factor for her is her huge popularity among the masses and elites. Her movie, Jenifa cuts across all social groups with the street parlance in it becoming the mode of communication in social gathering. And as an icing on the cake, Funke has moved upscale, she is now the toast of events organized by the rich and not so rich. Her box office credibility transcends the cinema as all DVDs parading her face turn into gold.
Omoni’s strength is her exclusivity and knack for quality. It is a known fact that if the project is not big and ambitious, Omoni might not do it. The disadvantage of that is, despite her box office credibility, Omoni is still unknown in areas where there is no access to cinemas. Perhaps, that is the reason she tries to make up with the red carpet presence.
For now, the exclusivity is working for Omoni; perhaps her new movie, Broken and other works will introduce a new twist. One other thing that should not be forgotten is the unprecedented publicity of Anchor Baby in 2010. The film also had Omoni at the forefront of meeting and greeting of fans at the cinemas.
Mr and Mrs made N6 million while another of her film, Phone Swap made N20 million, making a total of N26 million.
Too early for Nse to cement her place, as she hasn’t done N15 million back-to-back but one thing the actress has made clear is that she has intention of doing that. The leading four acts should be afraid of Nse because her strength lies in her pure acting talent.
Nse is born to act, deemed to be unnecessarily assertive a times, but you can’t accuse her of not knowing her lines. And she pushes her movies with virgour, moving from one cinema to the other.
However, Nse should watch it as many have accused her of being too ‘self-conscious’, a term casually used for budding stars who have ‘over-hyped’ impression of themselves as this could alienate fans who make the box-office count.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rules. A bankable star makes easier the job of a producer; the absence of one, however, is not a ready-made doom for a movie as Avatar and Slumdog Millionaire (both global box office hits) have shown. But if one would take a risk or err, it’s better to err on the part of caution.
Wikipedia defines a bankable star to be an actor famous or charismatic enough to be “capable of guaranteeing box-office success simply by showing up in a movie”. It is common knowledge that a Will Smith will sell any movie no matter how bad as long as he has his face on the jacket.

BIZARRE: Man With A Nose On His Forehead (LOOK)
After his nose was damaged, then infected and deformed, this Chinese man
has had a new one artificially grown on a rather unusual place.
The 22-year-old man, identified only as 'Xiaolian,' damaged his nose in a vehicle accident back in August 2012, but decided not to seek medical treatment. An infection then gradually corroded the cartilage, and, when Xiaolian finally went to see a doctor, it was too late: the surgeons were helpless.
There was no other choice left but to grow a new nose to transplant it, replacing the damaged one.
The surgeons placed a skin tissue expander onto Xiaolian's forehead, cutting in into the shape of a nose and supporting it by cartilage taken from his ribs.
The medical procedure was carried out at a hospital in Fuzhou, China's Fujian province. Surgeons say the nose is well-developed, and the replacement surgery will be carried out soon.
